The Southampton Football Club is a professional football club based in the city of Southampton, Hampshire, England. The team competes in League One as of the 2018–19 season.
Southampton have played their home games at St Mary’s Stadium since 2001 after moving from The Dell, the club’s previous home ground. In addition to playing matches on matchdays, the stadium also hosts occasional other events such as music concerts and rugby matches.

After a turbulent period in which the club was relegated from the Premier League and had to seek legal counsel over its use of the name ‘Saints’, Southampton Football Club (SFC) is now in a healthier state. Under Ralph Krueger, who took over in December 2016, the team has been transformed from a relegation candidate into a side that can compete with top-six sides. SFC has so far reached the FA Cup semi-finals and beaten Arsenal twice.
