He broke the past records of Florida Age Group State Championships (FLAGS) 800m freestyle and made a new record with a time of 8:25.20 at the age of 14 years old. at the same event, he broke another record in the 1500m freestyle event with a time of 15:56.82.
Finke became a Team USA World Championship qualifier at FINA in 2017, and a member of the USA Swimming National Team. Finke also became the Florida Swimming and Diving 4A State Champion in several events. Going into college, Finke was ranked the No. 18-ranked recruit overall, and the No. 1 swimmer in the state of Florida for the 2018 class.
