At Summer Paralympics, shooting sport first appeared in 1976. It is consists of 12 events, which are 8 events for rifle and 4 events for the pistol in both men’s and women’s disciplines. Athletes who have the extent of their disability allow competing in this tournament.
There have two classifications are:
- SH1 – competitors who do not need a shooting stand
- SH2 – competitors who use a shooting stand to support the firearm’s weight
In total, 154 shooters will compete in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
