The first inaugural event of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup was held in 2002 in Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Canada. Then it was organized as a biennial event.
The last edition was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. Before that in 2018, it was held in France. Japan won the championship title over Spain 3–1 in the Final for the first time. England and France got third place and fourth place respectively.
In the history of the FIFA U20 World Cup, you can see the United States and Germany got three championship titles, North Korea got two times and Japan got once in the 2018 edition in France.
2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup TV Schedule & Fixture
This year the 10th edition of this tournament will take place from 10-28 August 2022 in Costa Rica. A total of 16 teams will participate from 6 confederations. And the whole tournament will play at two different venues (Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto & Estadio Nacional).
Each team will play three matches from their own group team in the group stage event. 8 teams will qualify for the Quarter-finals.
