The biannually European Water Polo Championship tournament has been organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN).
The inaugural edition was held in 1926 in Budapest, Hungary. In that edition, Hungary won the championship title, Sweden got runner-up and Germany got third place.
Most interesting fact, the last edition was held in 2018 in Budapest, Hungary and Hungary won the championship title and Spain got runner-up.
Till now, Hungary ranked in 1st position with 13 championship titles, the Soviet Union and Serbia got 5 times championship.
2022 Men’s European Water Polo Championship TV Schedule
In August this year, the 35th edition of the 2022 Men’s European Water Polo Championship will take place from 29 August – 10 September 2022 in the Spaladium Arena in Split, Croatia.
However, in the coming event, 16 teams will participate from the 4 groups.
