Since the 1988 Paralympics, the wheelchair tennis competition has been organizing. This sport is held with two events (Men’s & Women’s).

Right now it has added in six events competition. Those are:
- Men’s singles
- Men’s doubles
- Women’s singles
- Women’s doubles
- Quad singles
- Quad doubles
The most interesting fact is that wheelchair tennis sport, Netherlands won the 17 gold medals; whereas the United States won 6 gold medals and France won 4 gold medals from the Paralympics tournament.
In Rio 2016 Paralympics tournament, Gordon Reid from Great Britain won gold medal in men’s singles and Jiske Griffioen from Netherlands won the gold medal in women’s singles event on that.
You already knew that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics was rescheduled for 2020 to 2021. It will start on 24th August and end on 5th September 2021.
