The Amateur wrestling world championship tournament will begin from 17–23 October 2022 at Pontevedra Municipal Sports Hall in Pontevedra, Spain. Since 2017 this event has been scheduled every year.
Japan & Russia won the maximum gold medals in past events. The last edition was held in Belgrade, Serbia – Russia got 6 gold medals and headed freestyle and Greco-Roman events.
Three disciplines of this tournament.
- Men’s freestyle – 57 kg, 61 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 74 kg, 79 kg, 86 kg, 92 kg, 97 kg, and 125 kg.
- Men’s Greco-Roman – 55 kg, 60 kg, 63 kg, 67 kg, 72 kg, 77 kg, 82 kg, 87 kg, 97 kg, and 130 kg.
- Women’s freestyle – 50 kg, 53 kg, 55 kg, 57 kg, 59 kg, 62 kg, 65 kg, 68 kg, 72 kg, and 76 kg.
